Suede Announce March 2023 UK Tour – Retro Pop

Suede is set to hit the road in March 2023 for a flagship UK tour.

Ahead of the release of their 10th studio album ‘Autofiction’, the band have confirmed that the trek will begin at Bath’s Forum on March 3 and end at the O2 Academy Brixton on March 25.

It’s been 30 years since Suede made its iconic debut in London in May 1993.

The news follows a pair of secret shows that Suede performed under the guise of Crushed Kid – an idea that saw Suede take the “back to basics” nature of Autofiction to the extreme by performing live under a fake name.

After sparking rumors after a week of mysterious activity online, including the release of new music as Crushed Kid, Crushed Kid made their debut at London’s 300-capacity MOTH Club, followed by a set at the Deaf Institute in Manchester.

Tickets go on general sale September 16.

The full list of tour dates is as follows:

According to a press release, the band – along with Brett, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Neil Codling – have gone “back to basics” for their latest feature.

Speaking of the project, Brett says, “’Autofiction’ is our punk record. No whistles and bells. Just the five of us in a room with all the glitches and bullshit exposed; the group itself exposed in all its primitive disorder…

“‘Autofiction’ has a natural freshness to it, it’s where we want to be.”

Mat adds: “When we were rehearsing and writing this record, it was a real physical rush. This thing that you cling to for life.

‘Autofiction’ – Suede’s first album since 2018’s ‘The Blue Hour’ – is out September 16 and available for pre-order now. The band will also play a series of intimate UK and European tour dates in October.
