One of the staples of the Australian automotive media landscape, MOTOR magazine, is being withdrawn after 825 issues spanning 68 years.
Wheels Media announced today that the masthead, originally known as “Modern Motor”, will be retired and the last edition will be in July and will be printed in June.

Known for its performance car reviews and news, MOTOR’s demise represents the next step in changing market dynamics and consumer preferences in the digital age and marks the retirement of the latest automotive publication from the media. printed.
Christian Clark, CEO of Wheels Media, said: “Today’s decision was certainly one of the most difficult we have had to make in the history of our company.
“Market conditions are driving headline consolidation across the industry. In terms of consumer demand and long-term sustainability, a masthead for a new car in Wheels – as part of an offering full multi-channel digital and print – makes perfect sense.”
Current MOTOR Editor-in-Chief Andy Enright and much of the MOTOR team will hold roles within Wheels and WhichCar.
