Kelwon launches wall-mounted lithium battery inverters in India – pv magazine India

Kelwon introduced lithium battery inverters as a compact and safe alternative to conventional lead acid battery inverters. These inverters have a built-in lithium battery, which can be charged with solar and grid electricity.

Kelwon unveiled compact and wall-mounted lithium-ion inverters in India. The systems are available in power ratings from 1 kVA to 10 kVA, with operating voltages from 12.8 V to 120 V, respectively.

The inverter system has a built-in lithium battery, which can be charged with solar and grid electricity. Being wall mountable, the inverter poses no safety risk as it has no hanging wires or terminals.

“Traditional [lead-acid battery] inverters produce indoor air pollution, which is a health hazard, especially for children and the elderly living in the house. These produce a foul smell, fumes and bad odor that pollute the air in the house. Additionally, traditional battery-powered inverters are placed on the floor, making them a safety hazard for children and pets. Hanging wires and terminals can be dangerous for children playing and pets in the house,” said HS Bhatia, Managing Director of Kelwon. “[In comparison]our hybrid lithium-ion battery inverter is wall-mounted, portable and highly safe. »

The Kelwon inverter automatically selects AC power source first for battery charging and supports charging during the day, which reduces power consumption for battery charging and saves electricity costs.

“This is a smart inverter with two modes for inverter and inverter, pure sine wave output, auto-restart function during AC recovery, and overload/overheat/short circuit protection “, said the company. The portable model can be used for outdoor purposes as a power bank.

Kelwon Lithium-ion inverters come with a full 60 month warranty on both the inverter and the battery.

This product has a long lifespan of 15 years with negligible maintenance, which makes it much more cost effective than traditional inverters.

Pricing starts from INR 49,990 for a 1 kVA UPS and beyond for larger sizes.
