Downtown Camas First Friday in November: “Grateful for Pie” theme

Downtown Camas will celebrate gratitude for the season during the “Thankful for Pie!” on the theme of the first Friday of November 4th. There will be raffles and pie tastings, gratitude activities, s’mores roasting, fall crafts, games and the fan-favorite Pie Walk dance party, with a selection pies. This event also includes fall-inspired dinners and cocktails, after-hours shopping, and art exhibits.

The second floor gallerylocated upstairs at Camas Librarywill unveil the first exhibition of the new Camas Craftsmen Guild. The Guild strives to inspire enthusiasm for arts and crafts through education and exhibition opportunities, and they often participate in artistic community engagement at the center’s First Friday events. town of Camas. This exhibition, titled “The Gift of Art”, will feature 18 local artists in many different 2D and 3D mediums. Event-goers can enjoy a pie and artist reception at the gallery from 5-8 p.m.

  • Pie raffles in participating shops in downtown Camas

  • The Pie Walk dance party, sponsored by Carla Edwards, local real estate agent, starting at 7 p.m. with the Downtown Camas Association (DCA) at Church of the Journey304 NE 4th — win a delicious pie or other treat
  • Roasting s’mores (time permitting) sponsored by IQ Credit Union
  • fall crafts for children at Camas LiveWell, 417 NE Birch, and inside Journey Church
  • fill it in “Gratitude Passport” and be entered to win fall themed prizes offered by downtown merchants
  • Art exhibitions and receptions at Camas Gallery408 NE 4e and Attic Gallery421 NE Cedar, in addition to the Second Story Gallery reception listed above.

“First Friday is an incredible celebration of gratitude and pie, and who doesn’t love pie?” says Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the Downtown Camas Association. “This event has something for all ages and really brings people together in a way that they can support the local community, have fun together and enjoy delicious treats. We so appreciate our community shopping locally over the holidays, and this event is a great way to kick off that.
