In line with many other international conferences, the 3DMC event organizing team has decided to make this year’s conference, scheduled for Bilbao, Spain, November 9-11, a virtual event. This is due to the ongoing disruptions caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. Although it appears the virus is under control in some areas, many national and corporate travel restrictions remain in place.
Not all live events are canceled, but travel restrictions, especially for international events like 3DMC, greatly increase the risk that the number of delegates and exhibitors will be significantly reduced. For a successful live 3DMC, organizers need the event to be open to the entire 3DM community.
The online shift will still offer a great conference with free attendance for delegates by registering on the event website where details of the full program for the event, which is already well developed, will be published shortly.
Bilbao will remain the destination of choice for next year’s event.
The organizers of 3DMC are especially grateful to this year’s upcoming presenters and exhibitors who have already lent their support and will work closely with all of our potential exhibitors to ensure diverse online exposure in 2021 and the largest live exhibition ever. completed in 2022.
Papers from the 3DMC Online Conference scheduled to be presented include:
– Analysis and optimization of robot calibration performance
– 3D microscopic techniques for industrial control
– Development of innovative aeronautical assembly tooling supported by integrated smart devices
– Optical metrology for digital manufacturing
– Latitude code scanning deflectometry
– A new approach to automated planning of measurement tasks using graph-based algorithms
– Robotic 3D measurement system for the investigation of large volume parts
– Characterization of the robot based on a multilateration system with n=2 retroreflective spheres as targets
– An evaluation of measurement performance in portable photogrammetry for large volume metrology
– The challenges of 3D metrology in structural engineering
3DMC is an expert-run non-profit event whose employers support the time they invest in making it a success. A delegate pass provides access to first-class talks and posters, exhibition and excellent networking opportunities.
