Metav 2022, the international metalworking technology fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be postponed from March to June 2022.
The new date has been set for June 21-24. Dr Wilfried Schäfer, executive director of the organizer Metav VDW (German Association of Machine Tool Builders), said: “Unfortunately, the corona pandemic continues to be very dynamic with a significant increase in the number of cases due to the omicron variant. The difficult and uncertain planning situation associated with it has led us to postpone Metav 2022 to June this year. »
This early decision aims to avoid additional costs and create planning certainty for exhibitors, adds Schäfer: “We are in constant contact with our exhibitors and know that the postponement is supported by a large majority. The new June date met with great approval.
Martin Göbel, Managing Director of Trade Fairs at the VDW, explains: “For us, exhibitors and visitors always come first. We want to give them the best possible platform to connect with each other and achieve their goals. We are convinced that the postponement is the right thing to do and that we will have a successful Metav in summer – although we now have to wait three months longer than we would have liked.
METAV 2022 will take place from June 21 to 24 in Düsseldorf. It will present the entire spectrum of production technology. The main areas of interest are machine tools, tools, accessories, measurement technology, surface and computer technology for metalworking, software, machines and systems for additive manufacturing, systems of production and components for medical technology. In addition, METAV 2022 will highlight specific solutions in four thematic areas: Additive Manufacturing, Medical, Molding and Quality. METAV 2020 had to be canceled due to the Covid pandemic and was held as a digital event in 2021.
