A Note from the Editors – June 2022

Are you ready for June? We are sure!
This issue of Santa Clarita magazine is simply filled with information and things to do for the summer.
We are happy to welcome the SCV Veg Fest to our coverage this month. The event is scheduled for June 4 in Central Park and will feature great live music, local breweries and wineries, and over fifty participating food trucks and vendors to round out the day. This is the one not to be missed, go to page 24 for more information and bring the whole family.
Speaking of a fun time, mark the date as we celebrate the WISH Foundation and their upcoming Cars Under the Stars event at Westfield Town Center on July 23rd. You will find more than a hundred classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and motorcycles! Vote for your favorites, listen to the live band, sip a cold beer and refuel from a variety of food and snack vendors! You will find all relevant information on page 26.
Santa Clarita is a diverse community, in 2019 the City of Santa Clarita officially declared June Pride Month, this was a huge milestone for the LGBTQ+ population here. We have many organizations within the SCV supporting Pride Month, please turn to page 28 for more details and to get involved.
Mission Opera is pleased to present “The 13 Clocks” at Canyon High School Performing Arts Center on June 10-11. Based on a popular children’s fantasy novel by James Thurber, “The 13 Clocks” is a charming fairy tale filled with magic and fantasy. , read the whole story on page 38.
Staying local, the SCV Senior Center will once again host its Celebrity Waiter event on July 16. It’s such a fun event, this year’s theme is ‘A Night in Hollywood’, so watch out for your fanciest party outfits and get involved, you won’t be sorry.
Newhall Old Town is one of our favorite places to visit. We feature some of the best restaurants, wineries, theaters and shops in our Old Town Newhall section starting on page 48.
Looking for something special for your dad or grad, check out our gift guide on page 72, it’s full of great ideas. Also in this issue, we may be able to solve your problem of what to do with the kids this summer, check out our summer directory for kids on pages 88 and 89.
